Gesswagner Marianne, soprano
1977 born in Upper Austria. Diploma degree in „Solo“ (studies with Prof. Birgit Greiner) at the Bruckner-conservatory in Linz 2001, additionally 2003 at conservatoriy „Guido Cantelli“ in Novara (Italy); Studies at M° Vittorio Terranova and M° Marina Giorgio. At the present studies with Alessandra Althoff.

1st prize at national competitions like „Prima La Musica“ (Linz, 1996) and „dasPODIUM“ (1999). Prize-winner (1st Prize) of the international song competitions for operetta “Luigia Stramesi” (Italy) 2001 and 2003, as well as the international song competitions for Musica da Camera “Nino Carta” (Italy, 2003).Prize-winner of the 34th international song competitions of “Toti dal Monte” (2004). Finalist and prize - winner of the special prize „Karl Böhm“(2005) for the best Mozart - interpretation of the international song competitions “ Ferruccio Tagliavini “. Prize-winner of the 2nd prize of the international Belvedere song competition 2005 for operetta. She was honoured as "suitable" for the part of Margherite (Faust) at the international competition "As.Li.Co" 2006 (Como,Italy).

Solo obligation (1998) at the regional theater Linz in T. McNally’s play of Master Class as Sharon Graham, and in the season 2000/01 at the Bavarian state playhouse Munich (guest preformances in Shanghai).Numerous solo appearances in lieder recitals, concerts and church concerts („Requiem“ of Verdi, „42nd psalm“ of Mendelsson, and others) at home and abroad.

In the context of the opera studio she sang the role of the Lady Billows in Albert Herring of B. Britten and the Euridike in Glucks Orpheus and Euridike; at the theater „Coccia“ (Novara, Italy) also the Euridice of J. Offenbachs operetta Orfèe aux Enfers.In the context of the festival „Galuppi“ (Venice) she could be heard as Marianna in Rossinis opera Il Signor Bruschino (2003) and as Clarina in La Cambiale di Matrimonio (2004). In the international music festival in Lille (France) she sang Tisbe out of the opera Piramo und Tisbe (2004) of A. Hasse.

Debut in “Le nozze di Figaro” (Mozart) as Marcellina and as Berta in Rossinis “Il Barbiere di Siviglia” at the regional theater of Treviso (Italy 2004/05). She sang at the Teatre de Monte- Carlo in "A Summernight Dream" (Mendelssohn) December 2005;

Debut as Felice in “I quatro rusteghi” (Wolf-Ferrari) at the theaters Lucca, Pisa and Ravenna; Carmina Burana (Orff), Theater “Coccia” (Novara), in La clemenza di Tito (Mozart) in the part of Vitellia (Istanbul); as Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni (Mozart) in Caracas (Venezuela) conducted by Gustavo Dudamel; Debut in the part of Margherite - Faust (Gounod) at the theaters of Pavia, Brescia, Como.

Debut as Mandane in Artaserse (L. Vinci) - Musikwerstatt in Vienna; as Annie in the opera for television "When She Died" (J. Dove) at the Kammeroper in Vienna; Sopran solo part at the opening concert of the new regional theater of Vicenza singing the 9. symphony from Beethoven (Europahymne).

Debut as Fiordiligi in Cosi fan tutte (W. Mozart) - Production of the As.Li.Co "Opera Domani" at severals theaters of north Italy. Performation of a lieder recital, headed “Cherchez la femme”, in the regional theater of Piacenza, Italy, presantetd by M° Corrado Ambiveri. Concert with the orchestra of the opera "La Fenice", in Venecia, in the hall of “Scuola Grande di San Rocco” conducted by Alberto Veronesi.
